Nurse

Osveh, Cultural Institute of Qur'an and Atrat Osveh,

The difficult and important profession of nurses has a high reward and value in the sight of God, and they should appreciate their work. Nursing is a very delicate and responsible job, and at the same time, it is very valuable. Also, the patient's prayer for the visitor and the nurse is answered, as is his curse. Therefore, it is appropriate for the nurse to ask the patient for prayer.
Nurses demonstrate the true meaning of selflessness. They are aware of the difficulties of this profession before choosing it, they are heroes who must understand the condition of their patients at all times. A good nurse, in addition to helping the patient overcome his illness physically, must also help him mentally. He must be careful about the peace of the hospital environment when he sleeps. If the patient has a food restriction, he must never eat in front of him. If the patient considers him a confidant, he must not share his secret with others. Sometimes the patient calms down by complaining and coping with his pain more. A dedicated nurse wakes up from her sleep to take care of her patient and is kind to him. She must be calm so that she can calm the patients and companions have a strong body to cope with the difficulties, the difficulties and burden of the nurses' work are not few, and she must also be psychologically approved. She must be well-spoken, patient, knowledgeable and engaged in this profession.
They have made many sacrifices over the years. They came to the aid of injured people during floods and earthquakes, helped the war wounded during the war, and saw themselves as defenders of health during the coronavirus pandemic, taking care of coronavirus patients.
Imam Khomeini, may God have mercy on him, said: "This profession of nursing is one of the most honorable professions. If a person does it with his human and religious duties, it is an act of worship that is above the first-class acts of worship. Nursing a patient is a very difficult matter, but it is very valuable."
Just as they spend their precious minutes nursing patients, it is good for us to speak openly when we visit them, they are not responsible for our illness. We can be grateful for all the sacrifices of nurses on Nurses' Day and take away their fatigue with a message or a bouquet of flowers, and remember that we should not only remember them on Nurses' Day, but every day can be their day. The Holy Prophet (PBUH) said: Whoever tries to meet the needs of a sick person, whether his needs are met or not, will be purified from sins like the day he was born from his mother. I am reminded of a noble lady who was the loving balm to the heart of our master Zainul-Abidin Imam Sajjad (AS) and who nursed Imam Sajjad (AS) with all her being and from the bottom of her heart. The healing of our master was the impatient hands of an aunt who stroked his feverish forehead. Nursing means circling around a candle like Hazrat Zainab (PBUH); and there are many nurses who circling around patients lovingly and like butterflies. Perhaps this is how nurses have made a promise to their God to always stay with the patients with all their might and to spend whatever they can on the health of the patients without any expectations; a cost of the soul, of the spirit, of the love and existence that is overflowing in the heart.
