Rainbow Valley is located on Hormuz Island and is considered one of the geological wonders and among the wonders of Iran. Watching a rainbow in the sky is not so contrary to belief and habit; But the existence of a beautiful rainbow on the ground and in the heart of the mountains is beyond belief and everyday experiences.
Such a view, with the background of the blue Persian Gulf and the blue sky of Hormuz, enchants every viewer.
Rainbow Valley is one of the natural monuments and sights of Hormozgan province, which is located in the southwest of Hormoz Island in southern Iran. Hormuz Island is one of the unique islands of the Persian Gulf.
To go to the Rainbow Valley, you must first go to Hormuz Island. After you reach the south of Iran and Qeshm Island or Bandar Abbas, enter Hormuz Island through the boats of Zakari Wharf in Qeshm and Haqqani in Bandar Abbas. Along the way, you can take the path of the colorful Rainbow Valley from the local guides.
Hormuz Island consists of sedimentary and volcanic layers, which include various minerals and most importantly salt. These sediments stand out in a special color based on their composition and chemical formula. Naturally, this also applies to the Rainbow Valley, and its mountains and plains are made of mineral salts and various minerals.
The name of the Rainbow Valley is due to the mountains surrounding the valley, which are in a variety of colors, including yellow, white, red, orange, brown, and even green and gold. Yellow, red, silver and black colors are caused by sedimentary compounds and iron oxide. Volcanic compounds in Rainbow Valley have also created white, blue, pink and gray colors.
Interestingly, in this valley, there are three metal rocks named magnetite, hematite and oligist, which contain iron oxide. Also, a golden-colored metallic stone called pyrite containing iron sulfide is also found in this valley, which is known as the devil's eye.
Considering the heat of the air in the southern regions of the country, the winter season can be considered the best time to travel to Hormozgan and Hormoz Island. In fact, with the cold weather in other parts of Iran, many tourists go to the southern islands that have favorable weather.
The Rainbow Valley is full of rocks, stones and soil that amazes every viewer in terms of the variety of colors. Undoubtedly, it will be hard for any visitor to believe that soil and stone can exist with this color spectrum. It is interesting to know that the red color has the largest share of this beautiful colored pencil box.
Every step you take, you will never get tired of seeing the blue color on one rock and the yellow color on another corner. In this colorful nature, there are even silver and shiny black stones.
One of the wonders and attractions of the Rainbow Valley is a very large stone that looks like two hands facing the sky, and when it rains, the water enters the pit under the stone and remains there for a long time.
One of the interesting points about the valley is that its colorful soil has various uses. For example, it can be used to prepare spices or even for medicinal purposes or in the paint and painting industry.
The beautiful rainbow valley is one of the best areas of the island for photography; Especially if you turn around, you find a new subject.
There are many places of interest near Rainbow Valley, including the Valley of Sculptures, Dr. Nadeian Museum, Golek Mountain, Elaha Namak Mountain, and beautiful beaches.
