Cultural commitment is when a person accepts any culture they like, based on rationality and superior evidence, and is influenced by the attraction of that culture; cultural commitment is reprehensible among all nations; of course, using different cultures that are compatible with and do not conflict with Islamic culture is not reprehensible and is also approved by Islam.
One of the biggest factors in the decline of human societies and the dominance of oppression over the general culture of society is that the way people think about fighting and confronting oppression and their way of thinking about justice and seeking justice becomes weak, lethargic and indifferent. In this case, society surrenders to oppression and accepts it. Therefore, the unworthy and the worst individuals dominate society, as God says in verse 129 of Surah An’am: “And thus We punish some of the wrongdoers with what they used to do.” In this way, We make some of the wrongdoers dominate and dominate others by punishing them for the sins they used to commit. In this context, it should be said that one of the grounds and conditions for the emergence of oppression in society is the lack of enjoining what is right and forbidding what is wrong. Because performing this duty means protesting against oppression and accepting oppression. Just as Imam Hussein (AS) introduces one of the goals of his uprising against Yazid as the people's indifference towards enjoining good and forbidding evil in society.
In my opinion, the biggest factor is human ignorance; if a person is wise and knowledgeable about his culture, he will advance his cultural issues by relying on his cultural principles and will not emulate the false cultures of others because the value of a person is in his intellect, and if there was no intellect in a person, his situation would be much worse than that of animals. If the intellect of a person is weakened, a person will do ignorant things, and false imitation of a foreign culture is one of the examples of ignorant things. In our country, some people consider freedom to mean unbridledness, unaware that the meaning of freedom in Western culture is not unbridledness either, and freedom in this sense is not accepted even in the West. Ignorance is considered an undesirable trait in Islam and the Quran, and believers are asked to be aware of its harmful effects, because it is not only harmful to humans in this worldly life, but its danger always affects humans in the afterlife, causing them to be caught in cruelty and misery. Ignorance has taken root in humans over time and, with deep negative effects, places them in severe misguidance: 1- The role of ignorance in idolatry: God says in the Holy Quran: "We brought the Children of Israel across the sea. On their way, they came upon a people who were gathered around their idols in humility and submission. They said to Moses: "Make for us a god, just as they have gods." He said: "You are an ignorant people.
