Islamic thrift

Osveh, Cultural Institute of Qur'an and Atrat Osveh, Tehran,

Saving is closely related to the financial issue and the amount of production and distribution. Anything that is valuable from a financial point of view and more than human needs, raises more questions and issues about how to consume it.
Saving is the concept of consuming something in its right and appropriate form. This issue is very important and fundamental for creating a balance between income and expenses, and it can be influential and decisive in the field of family economy. However, in addition to being meaningful in the field of personal economy, thrift also has meaning in the field of public economy.
For this reason, Imam Khomeini (may God have mercy on him) considers excessive and excessive consumption of water and electricity as wrong and forbidden, and considers a person indebted to the society. The Qur'an has also dealt with this issue from different dimensions; Because the Qur'an is a book of guidance and guidance for a person towards perfection, and it pays attention to the economic issue, which is closely related to the issue of comfort and peace, and in order for a person to move on the path of perfection, to the issue of economy and proper and correct methods of earning money and Its costs have also been paid. Some consider frugality to mean consuming less, but it seems that this meaning cannot be economic; Because the purpose of producing an economic tool is to consume it, and the consumption of something happens when a person needs it, and by consuming that thing, needs are met. Therefore, it is necessary to consume something as much as we need, and consuming less cannot satisfy our needs, unless we pay attention to basic needs and non-essential needs, or necessary and non-essential needs. In this case, it can be said that the consumption of something should meet basic and necessary needs.
From the point of view of Islam and the Quran, moderation in consumption and frugality means correct and proportionate consumption, which is the basic principle and one of the first principles of Islamic economy, which believers use to achieve personal and collective perfection, and Islamic society to achieve a model and superior society. They should consider it in their economic system.
In Islam, we always talk about the economy. Economy means moderation. For this reason, the foundation of affairs in the field of production, distribution and consumption of goods is moderation according to the Quran.Any behavior outside this framework is wrong according to the Quran and is considered a sin and sometimes a legal crime. In the same way that extravagance and extravagance are wrong, it is also a sin, and not using God's halal blessings and not benefiting from the blessings in the direction of comfort, peace and perfection is considered an abomination.
In the verse (Surah An'am 141), God asks people to avoid extravagance and keep their expenses within the framework of moderation. In the verse (31 of Surah A'raf), people are told to use God's blessings and eat and drink from it, but not waste it; Because extravagance is a bad thing and God dFrom all these articles and many other articles and verses, we can understand that everyone's duty requires us to make efforts in the correct and optimal consumption of economic goods, and each one of us is obliged to act based on accepted economic frameworks and not consume excessive economic goods. Don't waste it. oes not like extravagance.
